Small, happy and currently!

So let's catch up! I love reading these 'currently' posts and I realised I haven't done one of my own in a while, so here we are :)

Reading: Anna and the French kiss (again!) I just needed some cutesy fluff, we all do sometimes!

Watching: Bake Off like the rest of our great nation obvs and The Office from our friends across the pond! It's so so funny, Steve Carell is a genius.

Wanting: time to slow down but equally to speed up (because hello Christmas!)

Feeling: at peace and calm the majority of the time. It's great. I definitely need to thank my yoga obsession for at least part of this feeling.

Enjoying: new episodes of Nashville, Scandal and Grey's Anatomy. Olivia Pope is back bitches!

Coveting: lots of books (as per usual).

Deciding: to get my Christmas shopping done very soon! Yes, I'm going to be that person. I'm going to try ha!

Needing: a bit of Disney to help me through those long markings sessions!

Visiting: Knutsford, Tatton Park, lots of lovely places in Cheshire.

Cooking: up an Autumnal storm! Whole roasted cauliflower, leek and butterbean casserole, it goes on!

What have you been up to lately? Read any good books?

Happy Sunday :)

Small and happy's cookbook wishlist!

So I am totally lusting after all of these cookbooks at the minute. You see, boyfriend and I are kind of becoming cooking machines right now. Pretty much every weekend we set aside time to cook a new recipe and we are loving it. I've followed the Hemsley sisters, Deliciously Ella and Inspiralized for a while now and read their blogs religiously but I feel like there's nothing better than just having the books in front of you when you're cooking. I hate squinting at a screen when trying to cook and then having to unlock the screen with foody, dirty fingers! #firstworldpains

As well as this, I just like having nice cookbooks around. I barely buy clothes, so this is my treat! I am totally trying to justify these purchases but hey, you've got to eat right?! And these ladies are showing us delicious and nutritious ways to eat right. I'm so glad this way of eating and the focus on plants is becoming so popular. For ages I felt it was just me banging on about zucchini noodles and cauliflower rice to my non believing family for so long! So it's nice to say, 'see ACTUAL chefs do this!'

I would also love a spiralizer but I have limited space in my kitchen and a julienne peeler is doing the trick (for now) so I might put this one on the back burner but it would just open up so many options! Spiralizing a butternut squash?! Yes please!!

Do you have any of these books?  Which cookbooks are your most thumbed?  Can you recommend any good books/blogs to follow like these? Let me know!

Small, happy and wanting to cook ALL THE THINGS

I must admit, teaching part time is pretty great in many ways.  There are downsides sure, like not knowing where I'll be teaching that day, or even who or what (!) but it does mean I have more free time.

I have used that time the best way possible, by cooking, A LOT.  Boyfriend and I have been cooking up a storm and whats more he's been so up for trying anything I feel like cooking (even when those dishes have a distinct lack of meat...)

While neither of us are vegetarians I do think it's great for your body, your palate and your budget to branch out and see what amazing dishes you can create when you step away from the 'must have meat mindset'.  So here are a few little things I have pinned recently that I'm dyyyyyying to make!

The original link for all of these delicious pins are on my pinterest board Health Nut follow on if you love a bit of sometimes meaty, quite fishy and extremely veggieful food porn!

What about you?  Do you choose to go meat free sometimes?  What have you been rustling up at home recently?

Tell me pleeeeease, I am beyond nosy when it comes to people's eating habits (and most things really....)
